Day 12/16

Today is the BIG DAY! The projects due and Im really nervous it won't get finished in time. I am about to send it in but I had to write my journal entry and I need to collect all my webpages for my bibliography. Whew! I am a little shaky right now because I am trying to type as fast as I can so I can send it in on time. I am planning on sending it at 4 or 4:15. Hopedully Ms. Tucker will confirm it right away so I can be done with it.

 

Well the project is about wrapped up. It was definitly challenging. So I think I'll close for the last time.....Oh man I need to spell check too! Ahhh!

 

Day 12/15

Ahhhh Saturday! So today was the big work day! I worked on the project for about 11 hours today. Right now it's 12:45 AM and I have been working on it for the past 5 hours at least. I thought I needed to pull an all nighter but I felt confident about the amount I got done. As for Austin, he got all of his stuff and done and even found a really informative video. I think the project will be good.

 

I am a little worried about the number of pages we need and the amount of information I have. Austin says the website looks good so that made me feel a little bit better. I asked my friends the amount of pages they had and they said they had about the same amount. So tomorrow I have to work a lot still.

 

 

Day 12/14

Finally Friday! Today I couldn't get access to a computer after school. I had to go to another baskeball game and I got home at 8:30. But since I thoght it was a Friday, I felt that no homework shall be done today especially since I took a 2 hour nap after I got home.

 

I did talk to Austin today about the weekend schedule coming up for the project. The project is due on Sunday so it's crunch time. As I said before, working on it in a pressure situtaion to get it done makes me more focused and I work harder. So Saturday and Sunday will be fun.

 

Day 12/13

Today I was sick from school. I immediatly threw up after I got out of the car. I got to school and left all before the morning bell started. So today I decided that  I would work extra hard on the project. I looked for educational videos on youtube and found 3 and sent them to Austin via first class. He emailed me back which one he wanted. I started to edit and add more information to the pages we already had.

 

I didn't work on the project all day because I did take a 6 hour nap which made me feel better. I had to do other work that I missed that day. I had double the geometry which took me forever and I had to study for Chinese and History. I did get a good chunk of the project done today but I didn't work on it that intensly.

 

Day 12/12

Today I decided to take a little break even though I haven't been really working on the project that much.

 

Austin finally got the game on the webpage and it looks good. I have actually played it a couple of times. But I think that we still need to add more than games and videos and pictures.

 

Day 12/11

Today I had no time at all to work on the project. I had to leave immediatly after school to go to a basketball game at Hyde Park. I got home at around 8 and I had to do my homework the next day and I finished all of that at 10:15. For some reason I was really really tired and so I fell asleep right as my head hit the pillow.

 

I am not sure how Austin is doing on his side of the project so far. He tried to get a game on the website that took the whole work day and I kind of became a little aggitated. I was working on a new page the whole class period.

 

Day 12/10

So today I researched a bit more and started my pages. I had to retype everything in my own words cause otherwise that would be plagerism. Anyways I never knew it would take that long to put all that information up and then save it and then color it and add pictures and videos and other things. My hand hurt after typing for sooo long. But I feel like I completed the beneficial page. Thats the page I had the most information on so I decided to that one first.

 

As for Austin, we are kind of getting a move on things. Neither of us are following the timeline. For me, I find that when I am in a pressure situation to get things done I put all my focus and hard work into it and it turns out better than I expected. So I will probably stretch it out as much as I can this week.

 

Day 12/8-9

So for the weekend I was planning to get caught up. That was not the case....at all. I actually didn't have the chance to do anything this weekend. I feel like I am letting Austin down. I was sooo busy I had no time to do anything plus I had other Hw that was more impotant than this project like a paper that was due tomorrow...(Monday) so this actually was not really that high on my priority list.

 

Day 12/7

So today I was gone in class because of the basketball tournament. And we didn't get back till late at night so I had no time do research. I haven't talked to Austin in about 2 days so I don't really know how its coming along. I am a little worried.

 

Day 12/6-

So today Ms.Tucker let us have a work day. This helped me a lot. I found almost all the information i need on every subject that i was assigned. I even found some pictures and some charts. I think I got at least 5 sources but they are mostly from the free-net so I had to do all my "real site" forms on the computer. (Thats what I call them!)

 

I don't know how I am going to layout a page online. I tried to put a picture up on the homepage but it wouldn't let me. I was sort of angry....

 

Day 12/5-

Today I tried to find information about our bacteria. I found quite a bit but I accidently didn't make a page for it so I lost it all. But anyways, I dont think the information was that important. I have the rest of the week to do it. As for today in class, Ms. Jansen came in and showed us how to look for "real" websites. She gave us the form we are supposed to fill out when we use the free-web to get information on our bacteria. I think its going to be annoying going through every question on every website.

 

It's been hard staying on track with the timeline. As I guessed i am not really following it. I think i can catch up this weekend...hopefully. Austin said he has been reading about our bacteria but really hasn't writen anything down. Well since my notes are gone and nowhere to be found I guess I'll have to start from nothing...again.

 

Day 12/4-

Today made a little bit more sense to me about how the timeline works since we talked about it in class. Ms. Tucker said we didn't exactly have to follow it, it would just make our work load a bit more managable. I am still not sure if i can follow now that its hard to type. I sprained my pinky and it's in a splint right now. I will be probably more behind then Austin is at some points. As for Austin, he agreed that he would do the first 5 tasks and I would do that last six.

 

As for researching today..It didn't go so well. Austin and I both have the same delima. We are both looking for certain information but are unable to find. We are trying to stay inside the guidelines as we are directed to but nothing has really come up for bacteria. The only things that have come up are articles about cured milk. Not exactly what I was looking for. It's very tempting to use the free-web as both Austin and I know but we might get in trouble if we do or get false information. It took me a longer amount of time trying to find one article with some information than getting an article about cured milk. If the rest of the information is this hard to find then I don't know how my work ethic is going to turn out...

 

 Day 12/3-

    Today all we did was start our wiki. I was expecting to do more with the page with colors and all that but that might happen later; I'll have to mess with wiki some more. The timeline is actually hard to think of because first of all I never follow schedules and secondly, I don't even know if its possible that I can be up with it because I have a crazy schedule coming up after school. Frankly, Lauren's Journalschedules are not for me but since this is part of my assignment I will try to follow it.

 

    As far as the project goes, I think this is a new interesting way to present it. I was wanting to do a movie project when Ms. Tucker first announced the project but I guess this is suitable. I love to work with computers and I have made websites before so this works for me. I just hope it doesn't take longer to do than we have planned on the timeline. I am actually worried that some tasks that we are assigned have either too much information and its hard to summarize it all or our task has too little information. I am also worried that since this project will also be done at home as well as school then their will be confusion on the sites and the information Austin and I have. Their will be problems for example like I would put information on a page and Austin would put the same information on the page so then we would have to go back and edit and get more information because we would thought there was a lot of information on that page. Anyways, since nothing has really happened yet, I feel that this project will actually work out.
