Day 14 12/16/07

Finally our project is done. I'm really excited to be done with this. Lauren did a really good job, she had alot of great ideas on this that really helped us out. Now we just have to email it to Ms. Tucker and get ready for the presentation on Monday or Tuesday.

I don't think we have anything to worry about for the presentation. Lauren knows her stuff and I know mine. We will just present what we know to everyone and show them the fun stuff we added. I'm fairly confident that there is nothing to worry about at this point. I'm really not going to miss writing in this thing.

Day 13 12/15/07

I had a game at 12:30 today. The plan was that I would work on the project afterwards. However I did not get back home till around 4. I made myself concentrate on the project all night and I was feeling good about it till i got a text/ email from Lauren. She said that all my pages had nothing on them and I freaked out. I went back and looked and nothing had been saved.

I don't know how this happened but it made me mad. I spent the rest of the night fixing everything and trying to add stuff on, I feel bad because lauren was doing a majority of the work because I was having a rough time finding stuff to add and the website was giving me problems on all of my pages. I eventually fell asleep in front of the computer. I'm going to have to work extra hard tomorrow.

Day 12 12/14/07

In Biology Lauren and I talked about the project. We came to the conclusion that today should be a break day. Don't look at the project just take our minds off of it and I was glad. On saturday neither of us have anything going on so we will be on our computers working on the project non-stop.

This break is very comforting for me. I know I need to work tomorrow though. I have trust that Lauren will too. I'm feeling much more confident about this project. Atleast I am at this moment.

Day 11 12/13/07

Only some small stuff done on the project last night. I was overloaded by the two tests and biology homework along with basketball. This was supposed to be something easy for me, but now its all catching up on me and is turning out to be more difficult than I thought. This project has become a huge form of stress and I really don't know how Lauren and I are going to pull this one out.

I have a huge math test tomorrow and basketball tonight and biology homework due tomorrow, our wiki can't be accessed at school, I don't know how I'll have time to do anymore tonight. I'm going to have to be staying up very late. I also don't think we have payed attention to our timeline at all, planning is not a strong suite for either of us.

Day 10 12/12/07

Yesterday was the last day we had to work on the project in class which was discouraging. I have alot of stuff coming up on thursday and friday. With the english and math tests on those days i don't know how I am going to study for those and get the project done, along with completing the lab assigned to us. Hopefully Lauren and I will find a way to work it out.

It seems like all the information has been compiled and all we need to do now is make our website "perfect". There are some kinks that need to be worked out, and the lack of spell check is going to make things interesting. Tonight I'll be studying for english and math, hopefully mixing in some time with the project but i don't know if i can.

Day Nine 12/11/07

Today was a work day which was good. It let Lauren and I get caught up on what information we had and find a way to piece it all together. From the looks of it we are going to be okay. I'm anticipating a late night trying to make everything look nice, but the basics are set, which is important.

I tried to create a game today. Quite a dilema occured. After checking multiple sites with complex procedures, I finally found a basic one. However, did not get a chance to run through it do to our school's lack of a decent internet connection. Hopefully tomorrow I can get this game set up.

Day Eight 12/10/07

Today we finished the lab from Friday. Never got to touch the project during school which was unfortunate because stuff needs to be done for it. Didn't get to do much at home tonight either.

Our project is not going to look good with days like these...

Day Seven 12/9/07

I finally have all of my basic information down as of Sunday night. After a lot of time searching everything has been compiled so that we are set when it comes to what we need. Lauren has also confirmed with me that she has found more than enough for her portion of the project. Now we can focus on the bells and whistles.

I haven’t talked with Lauren much about what she has in mind for our extras, but some ideas have been floating around in my head. A quiz, movie compilation, special effects, or any other forms of entertainment are all possible at this point. At school we will find out what is doable and what would be effective for our grade and interest.

Day Six 12/8/07:

I had the rest of my tournament today and didn't get home until late again, however I forced myself into staying up and finding something on the project. Basketball is really getting in the way when it comes to this thing since I should be making a dent in it everyday but am going to be forced to cram a bunch in this weekend. I got an e-mail from lauren with some recs to sites I can use, which made me feel a little better about things.

I checked them out and started taking some notes, but did not complete them due to my tiredness. Tomorrow I am waking up early and getting all the basics of this project down. That way, on Monday Lauren and I can start making our website look good and adding stuff on. Both of us are striving for a high A and this is the only way that is going to happen.

Day Five 12/7/07:

I got an e-mail from Lauren this morning. It said that she had found a ton of information already which was a bit of a surprise. I tried finding her today but she was nowhere to be found. I never got a chance to talk to her about how she's doing on the project or to give me some help, and she wasn't in class during biology. It was such a hectic day today trying to make up work from the day I missed, and having meetings during the morning, advisory, and lunch.

With all this stuff going on I need to set aside atleast an hour everyday for this project. Also, my grades came in today which put a damper on things. Hopefully I can raise those with this project, atleast in biology which is where I am struggling. I'm waiting to get in touch with Lauren about sites where I can find the information I need.

Day Four 12/6/07:

I'm writing this on the 7th because I did nothing for the project yesterday. Once I got home from the all day tournament I, irresponsibly, crashed onto my bed. I feel bad that I'm letting Lauren down by not finding the information I was assigned but I'm hoping that I can catch up. There's really nothing else to write about for this day because honestly nothing happened which isn't good.

Day Three 12/5/07:

This project is having a rough time getting off the ground. Lauren and I both are having trouble finding information about our bacteria. I'm getting worried that your project is going to end up being very brief and our grades might suffer. In class we learned how to find credible sources on the free web, but when I went to look around tonight I still only found a minimal ammount of information.

Tomorrow I'm not going to be at school or near a computer which is going to put me seriously behind. Hopefully Lauren can get some things done and I can make up for the day I missed. I won't be getting home until late tomorrow but hopefully i can atleast check in with Lauren, do my journal, and find some information.

Day Two 12/4/07:

Today During class we discussed the difficulty of creating a timeline. I think it's going to be hard to stay on track with my timeline because of an unpredictable schedule coming up. Hopefully all the work will be done on time because this project is going to be a major grade. Lauren and I still need to talk about how we are going to split up the work. We haven't quite decided on it besides me getting the first 5 pieces of information and her getting the second. Once we compile those, hopefully by thursday, we will see where we should go.

I was going to begin searching the databases today to start my research, however no articles came up. I am sort of surprised by this. However, tomorrow we will learn how to evaluate sites on the free web so I'll have to get double the research done then. I feel confident that Lauren and I can get the basics of the project down soon so that we can start working our way up to an easy A.

Day One 12/3/07 :

Today Lauren and I set out a plan on how we would finish our project efficiently and make sure we achieved an A. We plan on getting all of our nessecary information out of the way and then work on a bunch of extra's like a movie or game to make our page much more interesting and fun. I am excited about this project because I think that i can make a good web page and it's a good opportunity to raise my grade in Biology. I am still not sure how to spell or pronounce the name of our bacterium, but i would like to by the end of the day. I also need to be more prepared in the future instead of writing my journal 20 minutes before class starts.

I have never been much of a journaler and frankly this feels a bit awkward, but i am going to try my best to make this as eloquent and intriguing as possible. Also, with this website's lack of spell check, I am sure i will be constantly worried about my grammar and spelling errors. Today I have to get with Lauren and get our timelines in sync, because right now they do not look like they are. Tonight i will begin researching and finding some of the nessecary information for the project. Since I don't have basketball i will take advantage of that and fixate on my project

Until next time Mr. Journal Person,

          Austin
